Happy Thursday!

I hope you are all doing well!

Science and STEM-fest:

Science Fair and STEM-fest is behind us! By the end of today, students’ papers will be submitted (as guided through during class). Thanks for supporting them as they participated in this annual challenge!

*Science Fair: For those who qualified, DISTRICT Science Fair is THIS SATURDAY 2/13 virtually. Michelle Tischer sent out info to all parents and students who are eligible with links to join!

Grades Updates:

I am now back at school. Thank you to everyone who reached out and shared warm wishes for my health. I appreciate your patience as I am getting caught up on grading and emails. All grades will be updated by Tuesday at 4pm. Later in the week I will be removing the temporary extra credit points in Infinite Campus to those who had a failing grade during my absence. There will be a lot of grades entered so your student’s grade might fluctuate quite a bit. Please check Infinite Campus with your student to help them sort out what might be missing or what might need to be corrected.

What We are Learning:

7th Grade: Students have been learning about series and parallel circuits. Next week they will transition into learning about magnetism!

8th Grade: Students have been learning about elements and symbols! Next week they will learn in more detail about isotopes and how atoms function!

Psychology: Students have been learning learning styles such as latent learning and observational learning. Next week they will learn about personality!

Forensics: Students have been learning DNA and how genes are passed down. They will continue learning about DNA and how it’s used to solve crimes!
